what you need to know
Fabric requirements:
For all short sleeve versions:
- Sizes XS-M requires 100cm of minimum 140cm wide fabric
- Sizes L-2XL requires 175cm of minimum 140cm wide fabric
For all long sleeve versions:
- Sizes XS-M requires 160cm of minimum 140cm wide fabric
- Sizes L-2XL requires 235cm of minimum 140cm wide fabric
Recommended fabrics:
Designed for fabrics with lots of stretch, including viscose jersey, cotton or cotton elastane single jersey, stretch lace.
Other materials and equipment:
Ballpoint needle for knitted/jersey fabrics
Sizes/measurements:
It is vitally important, when sewing your own clothes, to take accurate measurements of your body, and not rely on the sizing you expect to buy on the high street. For this pattern we have opted to use sizing XS-XXL, which approximately covers UK sizes 8-24. Measure yourself first to choose the right size for you!

You will learn to love to sew with your overlocker by competing our new online course. We will hold your hand as you work through three comprehensive recorded workshops, learning all the skills to sew your dream wardrobe from stretch fabrics.
We will host interactive Q&As, trouble shooting and live project sessions and be on hand to answer all your questions (even the ones you don’t know you have yet!).
You’ll be supported by expert tutors Sarah, Freya and Kim plus special guests will also share their overlocking experiences and tips. You will also be invited to join our exclusive social groups with your peers to share the learning journey together.
Over six weeks we'll cover everything you need to know about your overlocker and you will make three fantastic garments plus a range of accessories you will love to make and wear. You will have access to a resource pack including an e-book containing your exclusive sewing patterns and all the advice and tips you’ll need in an easy to reference format.
You will have access to the video content and course portal for a full year, giving you lots of time to make the most of the teaching and resources and keep checking back as you build your confidence and skills.

This course is for you if you want to learn how to sew t-shirts on a sewing machine or overlocker. We cover each step for each variation in detail so you can make all the t-shirts you ever need.

No, these garments can be made on a regular sewing machine too. Most of the videos demonstrate on an overlocker because it was filled as part of our Learn to Love Your Overlocker course.

When you sign up you have access to a portal with all your Crafty Sew and So Workshops. You can follow along and keep track of your progress here.

This course is self paced, for you to follow along in your own time!

You will have access to the recorded content for one year. Once downloaded, the PDF content is yours to keep forever to refer back to at any time.

The clothing patterns are designed for women, in UK Sizes 10-26.

Yes! The course is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. Lives will be recorded in the evenings from England, and if you are not able to join them when they are live you will still access them via the portal.
The PDF patterns and eBook can be printed on to Letter/A4 paper, or used digitally.

If you find you need additional support during your course you can book a 1-2-1 session with the tutors for £30 for one hour sessions. These are available through the whole year you have access to the course materials.
